CU Denver Sculpture Club
The Artist:
CU Denver Sculpture Club strives to provide student members the opportunity to engage in experiences, which involve the exploration and advancement of sculpture. Experiences aim to increase ones access to and knowledge of techniques and materials through dialogue, creative investigation, development of and participation in exhibitions, community events and an array of educational and experiential opportunities. The club sponsors guest artists, workshops, demonstrations and foundry performances as a means of professional development and community outreach.
The club has an established reputation in the region and has conducted foundry events (bronze, aluminum and iron casting performances) at the Denver Art Museum, RiNo, Loveland Museum, Curtis Arts Center, Arvada Arts Center, City of Aurora, and at the McNichols Building for Arts & Venues Denver. We were sponsored by Meow Wolf to conduct metal casting demonstrations for the Maker Faire Denver in 2017.
As a constantly evolving group of artists we create pop up exhibitions and have been a long-standing member at Pirate. Several of our past members are now Associate and Full co-op members. We fundraise to attend national conferences, and you can purchase a club T Shirt to support our creative endeavors any time!
