The Artist
Julie Jablonski is curious about how we walk around in our shoes.  A background in martial arts and psychology steer an exploration of balance (literal and figurative), ego, and how we respond to forces internal and external to ourselves.  She merges traditional oil painting practice with sculpture and experimental process and materials to create lush visual imagery intersected with conceptual puzzles and contemplations, and seasoned with a pinch of absurdity.  Themes of consumerism, pop culture, technology, history, nature, and one’s relationship to self and others are mined for understanding of how we put one foot before the next, or not.
